Since we deliver the tamales cold and in a vacuum-sealed bag, there are a few options for their preparation before enjoyment.
1. Microwave: The bag provided is safe for microwave use. Always cut a corner of the bag before placing in on a microwave-safe dish. Cycle time is dependent of the microwave power. We suggest two (2) minutes and adding a microwave-safe cup full of water to keep the product moist. CAUTION, be aware of hot surfaces and it is recommended the use of tongs for handling.
2. Banie-marie or hot water bath: Please first check the bag for holes* since water entry inside the bag will ruin the tamales. Place steamer or pot with water and bring it to boil. Once boiling is reached, place the sealed bag inside and let it boil between 8-10 minutes or desired food temperature. CAUTION, be aware of hot surfaces and it is recommended the use of tongs for handling.
3. Comal, skillet, or similar: Heat up comal, skillet, or another flat surface of your liking to high temperature. Take tamales out from the sealed bag and place them in hot surface - do not double stack. Once corn husk changes its color (not burned) turn upside down and repeat. If you desired a crunchy finish let corn husks toast on each side. CAUTION, be aware of hot surfaces and it is recommended the use of tongs for handling.
*We cannot be held responsible for the reheating of the tamales in a vacuum-sealed bag with hole(s).
